Carbon Fibre

Carbon fiber refers to high-strength and high modulus fibers with a carbon content of over 90%. High temperature resistance ranks first among all synthetic fibers. Made from acrylic fiber and viscose fiber as raw materials, through high-temperature oxidation and carbonization. It is an excellent material for manufacturing high-tech equipment such as aerospace. Carbon fiber is mainly composed of carbon element and has characteristics such as high temperature resistance, friction resistance, thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. Its appearance is fibrous, soft, and can be processed into various fabrics. Due to its graphite microcrystalline structure preferentially oriented along the fiber axis, it has high strength and modulus along the fiber axis direction. The density of carbon fiber is low, therefore it has higher strength and modulus. The main use of carbon fiber is as a reinforcing material to composite with resins, metals, ceramics, carbon, etc., to manufacture advanced composite materials. Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin composite materials have the highest specific strength and modulus among existing engineering materials. The diameter of carbon fiber is only 5 microns, equivalent to one tenth to one twelfth of a human hair, but its strength is more than four times that of aluminum alloy.
